Prof. Hasan Jameel visited us and gave a lecture titled "Development of an economically viable biorefinery by upgrading the value of the lignin residue" on November 6th, 2018. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Feng Wang.

Prof. Jameel introduced the Autohydrolysis – Enzyme Hydrolysis – Adhesive (AER adhesive) process as potential commercial applications of lignin residue products. The idea utilizes lignin as a substitute for phenol in adhesives as to phenolated Kraft lignin and autohydrolysis lignin. After the presentation, he chatted with audiences on multiple interesting topics.
