Opening Positions

M.S., Ph.D., and postdoc positions are available annually. We look forward to enthusiastic and self-motivated students and researchers with strong backgrounds in catalysis, organic chemistry, and material science. Priorities will be given to the candidates experienced in the following projects.

(a) design and synthesis of well-defined metal oxides, metal clusters, and porous material catalysts;

(b) material characterizations using operando methods, such as FTIR, STEM, EXANE/EXAFS, and neutron diffractions;

(c) catalytic conversion of biomass and its derivatives, such as cellulose, lignin, and platform chemicals via thermo-, photo-, and electrochemical approaches;

(d) preparation and fabrication of biomass-based materials including hydrogels, aerogels, lignin polymers, etc.;

(e) computational chemistry for heterogeneous catalysis including artificial intelligence and machine learning;

(f) techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment.

We are a multidisciplinary group occupied by experimental and theoretical researchers with cutting-edge instruments and facilities.
